Airahu Dormitory Stage 1 - Almost Completed

Currently there are 8 students training in a Diploma of Theology Course at Airahu.

In the past the only Accommodation in the school is an overcrowded dormitory with up to 18 people in a room. This is not an ideal environment for the purposes of study.
Our aim is to support the Bible College Students through the construction of a new dormitory that will include individual study areas for students and by  providing resources in the form of Theological Books.
After completing the Diploma of Theology course each student be ordained as a minister in their home Diocese. Airahu will be the only evangelical theological school in the Solomon Islands and will play a vital role in educating the next generation of clergy.
Stage 1 of the Project is the construction of the upper floor, comprising 16 rooms and a verandah. This was commenced in June and will be completed in November this year in time for the first intake of students into the expanded Diploma course.
Our budget for the construction of this Dormitory was AUD $40 000 of which the Diocese of Armidale has contributed 75%.

In July 2012 this project was completed to a level that allowed for the first intake of students to move in. The second half of the top floor will be completed later in 2012 when the Schools sawmill is repaired to allow for more timber to be milled.
